Set Resolution of bitmap Images with Rasterino in Illustrator

posted by: Iaroslav Lazunov, in Illustrator Tips / Tool/ Comments: 0

With the help of the Rasterino plug-in we can precisely determine and set resolutions for Linked and Embedded bitmap images. I hope that you have already experienced using Rasterino if not, download 14 day free trials now!

To demonstrate the Resolution feature I will use Cranberries and Lime images from Shutterstock. Insert an image into the current document (File > Place …). Now open Rasterino panel (Window > Rasterino > Rasterino panel). Here you can precisely determine and set the resolution of the selected Linked and Embedded images with up to two decimal places, compared to native feature which sets the resolution rounding it to a whole number.

If you select multiple images with different resolutions, “mixed” will appear in the numeric resolution field.

You can set the resolution for one or multiple raster objects by entering the desired value into the numeric field of the Rasterino panel or by selecting one of the presets from the drop-down menu.
