  • VectorScribe or VectorScribe Studio for up to Illustrator CC(17): £19 +VAT

All new features (from version 1.9.3)

Dynamic Corners

  1. Dynamic Corner paths which are reversed now stay dynamic.
  2. Legacy corners and corners which have had their dynamic status lost by complex path operations can be converted back to dynamic, either one at a time by clicking on them, or all at once through the flyout menu item.
  3. Paths with corners created with the "Round Corners” live effect can be converted to Dynamic Corners paths through the flyout menu item.
  4. There is a new flyout menu item "Select Similar-Radius Corners” which selects all dynamic corners which are within the preference tolerance value of the corners which were selected when the menu item was chosen. Only corners on selected paths are considered, unless there was no selection, in which case all paths are valid.
  5. Annotation tips now appear when a shortcut or modifier key is pressed, indicating its function.
  6. An optional annotation by the cursor now indicates the radius of the corner being edited.
  7. Corners on curved beziers may now be dragged by their curve, although (unlike straight bezier corners) the curve will not always remain under the cursor.
  8. The radius of a corner being hovered over by the cursor is now reflected in the panel.
  9. Precision in the DC panel is now taken from PathScribe’s setting.
  10. When the Dynamic Corners tool is being dragged with Smart Guides enabled, pressing the ‘U’ key temporarily disables Smart Guides.

Dynamic Shapes

  1. Legacy shapes or shapes which have lost their dynamic status can now be converted to dynamic, either one at a time by clicking on them, or all at once through the flyout menu items.
  2. Dynamic Shapes which have been mirrored or had their paths reversed (to be counterclockwise) now stay dynamic.
  3. When slicing a Dynamic Shape, the user can now specify whether the slice segments (those going from the outer edge of the shape to its centerpoint) are included in the final path or not. This allows creating a wider range of shapes, like arcs.
  4. The transformation point for a Dynamic Shape is no longer locked to the center of the shape. It may now be moved anywhere within the bounding box of the shape. Nine standard positions are available with the grid icon in the panel. If Option/Alt is held down while choosing a different transformation point position, the transformation point is kept at the same coordinates and the shape(s) moved instead. The transformation point may also be freely dragged by pressing Command/Ctrl after mousing down on it. Double-clicking on the transformation point re-centers it.
  5. When drawing a Dynamic Shape from its bounding box, these bounds now more accurately reflect the shape. For example, a Dynamic Star drawn this way now stays touching the original point that was clicked.
  6. Dynamic Polygons may now be specified by either outer diameter or by side length.
  7. Rectangles may now be dragged by an edge. By default this honors their transformation points, but holding down Option/Alt when dragging forces the dragged edge to stay under the cursor, shifting the transformation point as necessary.
  8. If a single path or compound path is selected when drawing a Dynamic Shape, pressing the ‘X’ key will enable Shape Replace mode, which will replace the previously-selected path with the drawn shape, keeping all grouping, etc. intact.
  9. Annotation tips now appear when a shortcut or modifier key is pressed, indicating its function.
  10. When the Dynamic Shapes tool is being dragged with Smart Guides enabled, pressing the ‘U’ key temporarily disables Smart Guides.
  11. When dragging out a new Dynamic Shape, the left and right arrow keys now decrement or increment the corner radii.
  12. When dragging the corner of a Dynamic Shape with Smart Guides, a special guide is now created from the transformation point to the dragged point, making it much easier to align the edge of a shape by changing its size.
  13. While dragging out a new Dynamic Shape, changing the number of sides/segments/points now shows the actual count.
  14. Precision in the DS panel is now taken from PathScribe’s setting.

PathScribe

  1. PathScribe now implements both Ghost Handles and Smart Smooth (like in InkScribe).
  2. When operating on a single path, Undoing the last operation now returns the selection state of the path to its previous state, rather than selecting all of its points.
  3. Annotation tips now appear when a shortcut or modifier key is pressed, indicating its function.
  4. When the PathScribe tool is being dragged with Smart Guides enabled, pressing the ‘U’ key temporarily disables Smart Guides.
  5. When dragging a single handle, the ‘R’ key now retracts it.
  6. The "Copy Handles” and "Paste Handles” menu items are now actionable.
  7. For Illustrator CC, precision can now be changed to 5 or 6 digits.

Dynamic Measure

  1. Arrowheads for measures converted to art may now be omitted, allowing the user to add any custom arrowhead they like through the created graphic style instead.
  2. When exactly two paths are selected, a new flyout menu item is enabled, allowing the user to measure the closest distance between those paths.
  3. For Illustrator CC, precision can now be changed to 5 or 6 digits.

Extend Path

  1. New tool

Smart Remove Brush

  1. New tool
